Veterans Day is a time to recognize all those who have served in the United States military.
It coincides with Armistice Day, which marks the date that fighting ended on the western front of World War I. It is also known as Remembrance Day; observed to remember individuals of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

RallyPoint is the best site for networking with fellow veterans. Build meaningful connections — both personal and professional — and gain the best tools possible to succeed in your life after service.

For in-person connections, Gallant Few links new veterans with local veteran mentors. They help to prevent feelings of isolation, and facilitate a successful transition to civilian life. Guidance and friendship with other veterans can decrease the likelihood of veteran unemployment, homelessness, and suicide.

The Raider Project falls under GallantFew, focusing specifically on Marine Corps combat veterans and special operations. It offers community building experiences like wilderness and climbing retreats, fishing trips, and sports programs. The Raider Project works to provide over 300 services such as addiction treatment, suicide prevention, therapy, employment assistance, and financial aid.

The Darby Project focuses on Army Ranger veterans, and the transition to civilian life. They are dedicated to connecting and empowering ranger veterans to thrive in their communities.

Though they are known for their assistance of veterans who have been wounded in war, the Wounded Warrior Project does a lot more. They provide a variety of veterans programs and services that are free to those who need them. They focus on connecting veterans to support, career and VA counseling, personal independence, and mental and physical wellness.

Veterans and families who are in the midst of a crisis, or in dire need of help — NVF is your lifeline. Call 888-777-4443 for immediate assistance. NVF also offers an abundance of information on veteran jobs, benefits, resources, and assistance.

DAV is a nonprofit charity dedicated to helping more than 1 million veterans each year. They specialize in support for medical access, care, and benefits claims. DAV is also committed to finding meaningful employment for those who have served.

Silent Professionals is a free recruitment service offered to veterans. We primarily assist combat veterans in making the transition from military to civilian life by utilizing the skills that they developed in the military.

Obviously, the VA website is chock-full of information; health care, disability, education, housing, and much more. It’s especially useful if you’re looking for a specific form or process.
